Close the Gap on Economic Injustice Today!

The GAP between the rich and the poor has reached unprecedented levels. In the United States the wealthiest 1% own an astounding 40% of the nation’s wealth; the bottom 80% own just 7%. Globally, the 85 richest people people have more wealth than the poorest half of the world (3.5 billion people).

This June’s 2014 Congress on Urban Ministry will create a platform for people of faith and good will to come together to create a more just community for all God’s people.

2014 Congress on Urban Ministry
To balance the conversation of economic justice, we must bring it back to those who are most impacted by economic inequality, connecting communities of concentrated poverty with those of concentrated wealth. People of faith who have been in the forefront of struggles for abolition of slavery, civil rights, and the peace movement can and must consider taking up this struggle.

You can make an immediate impact in bridging economic disparity by contributing to the SCUPE 2014 Congress on Urban Ministry scholarship fund. Each scholarship supports registration for individuals from under-resourced communities, offering them a seat at the table in addressing one of our most pressing and complex social challenges.

A donation of any size will grow our ability to bring change-makers to the Congress while a donation of $250 will provide one full registration scholarship.

Please contribute generously.

Thank you,
Dr. Shanta Premawardhana
